What is Friction Force?

Friction force is the resistance that opposes relative motion between two surfaces in contact. It lets you walk, grips your tires to the road, and slows down a sliding box — all thanks to microscopic roughness between surfaces.

Short answer

f = 0.4 × 200
f = 80 N

N = mg = 10 × 9.8 = 98 N

f = 24.5 N
